The Coventry Concordat

This Concordat, launched on 18 June 2010, is not a legally binding document but a framework for co-operation between Coventry stakeholders and the Image Working Group, as promoters of the Be !nventive proposition.

By signing up to it, the stakeholders agree to abide by the guiding principles of inventiveness which determine, as a city and as individuals, how we think, feel and act.

The cornerstones of those principles are:

  • Excellence in design, which applies to everything that we do, whether product, service or self-promotion.
  • Excellence in commerce, which means being economically successful.
  • Excellence in our relationships, which demands stronger connections between commercial organisations and maximising the talents and skills of all our people.
  • Excellence in communication, which means talking to each other better and making the outside world more aware of who we are and what we do.
